What do you recommend for video on the internet today?
Flash video and Flash movies have become one of the most powerful video tools available online today. Typically their file sizes are smaller and when produced correctly, and in the appropriate length, are very clean and don't have to "buffer". And with Flash 8 technology, (which is even cleaner), picking up market saturation for the right application with this level of quality is hard to beat. The majority of internet video that we produce today utilizes Flash video technology.
Can't I do the shooting myself?
Sure, you could. You could compress it also. But the reason that our final product looks as good as it does is not accidental. Look at our edges of the talent, the way it is cut out from the background, the way it sounds. Also, look at the final file size and how fast it loads and plays. Besides, that is why we've built this website. To allow you to do what you do best - design and develop.
Where do I start?
First step would be either to give us a direct call at which time we will walk you through the process or simply go to Step 1 - choosing your talent. On this page you will select one of our professional talent options. This would be followed by defining how you want us to handle your scripting. Then tell us what background you want to use and finally how you want your final file delivered.
Can I use my own talent?
Absolutely! Our selection of professional talent is simply options for you to consider that have experience with internet video production and have an established relationship with us. We'd be happy to make contact with your personal choice. In fact, we are always looking to expand our talent options.
Can I use my own script writer?
Once again, absolutely! We'd be happy to make contact with them if need or simply go with your final submitted script.
Can I watch the actual video taping of my talent?
If you would like to view the actual taping of your talent's performance, we can patch you through with a webcam that views our production area. You will have to download a free version of ivisit web broadcasting software at www.ivisit.com. We'll notify you of the specific production schedule and bring you online to view. There is also a full audio function where as you can hear their performance as well communicate through a chat function.
If I choose a Flash video clip as my final deliverable will it be a .swf or a .flv file?
That would be totally up to you. If you choose a .flv file it will be delivered as the "raw" Flash movie with the .flv extension. Typically you would need to take this file into some type of an authoring program to create the final internet video file that will be ready to be viewed on an internet web browser. If you choose to receive a .swf Flash movie it will require us to go through an authoring process in Flash with the final published clip being a .swf movie.
How does the final clip get to me?
We'll send the final clip(s) to you via our ftp service. You will receive an email with a download link. Or we can use your ftp access if you'd prefer. If the final file is smaller than 5 mgs we can use basic email.
What type of equipment do you use for recording the talent?
Our equipment is all broadcast quality Sony production gear. The cameras used have 850 lines of resolution with broadcast quality lenses. We digitally record onto professional DVcam digital video tape which is used as a backup. We have 3 individual stages on location here at Irvine Studios for set and green screen recording.
What type of equipment is used to edit and work with the backgrounds?
We edit and composite using AVID Adrenaline editing systems in our edit bays here at the studio. How we get the final video from the AVID to your requested file format and size and at the quality we do is our secret!
